Qualifications and Selection Process
Qualifications for Presenting
Presenters may include victim advocates, counselors, program managers, attorneys, social workers, law enforcement personnel and other criminal justice providers, psychologists, researchers, journalists, volunteers, faith and community leaders—anyone who is actively involved in helping victims of crime rebuild their lives.
Selection Criteria
Workshop proposals will be reviewed by our Institute Education Committee, which comprises National Center staff and experts from related fields and disciplines. Final selections will be based on the educational content of the session, the uniqueness of the presentation, the suitability for the audience, the speaker’s expertise with the subject matter, and how well the workshop incorporates or informs the theme of the conference. Presenters are strongly encouraged to use a victim-centered, practice-based, research-informed approach.
